Getting started

First run checklist: gear, map & survival basics

Before a first run, open the Characters inventory, equip weapons, healing items and a bag, choose a map and entrance, then keep quick-use items ready. The Demo supports solo play or a party with up to four friends; death permanently removes the character and carried items, while the Steam listing says items stored at base camp are safe.

Before you leave camp

  1. Open the inventory from the Characters tab.
  2. Equip the weapons, healing items and bags you plan to bring.
  3. Use the slot feedback described in the official guide: green for an empty compatible slot, yellow when an item can be swapped, and red when it cannot be equipped there.
  4. Check the quick-use area next to the inventory and place items you expect to use during the run.

Treat your carried items as at risk

Both official sources put the central risk in plain terms: the starter guide warns that dying loses everything you are carrying, and the Steam listing says death permanently removes the character and carried items. The listing separately says items stored in base camp are safe. This is a reason to prepare before leaving, not a verified recommendation for a particular build or loot route.

What this checklist does not claim

The two official sources do not establish a safest map, best weapon, exact extraction route, current enemy strategy or recommended solo loadout. Those questions need their own current evidence. Use the in-game prompts if they differ from this dated reference.
